Welcome to Year 3,

Mrs Crossley-John teaches the class on Mon, Tues and Weds: Miss Hall teaches on Thurs and Friday.

In English– we are reading a story about a boy who invents a cleaning -up robot! (who wouldn’t want one of those?)

We shall be looking at similes and learning new powerful words. We will write our own new episode for the story.

During Punctuation and Grammar lessons we shall learn how to use speech marks and revise verbs, adjectives and nouns.

In Maths- we are learning to tell the time using analogue and digital clocks .We shall be using the column method to add and subtract .

We practise our Times Tables and number bonds every day.

In History, we are going back in time to the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age and learning about how they found food, where they lived and what their beliefs were. We shall interpret and use evidence to answer our questions about the past.

In Music, we are adding percussion to our ‘Skeleton Song’

Spelling Booklets are sent home every Wednesday and must be returned by the following Monday. The children are to do 1 or 2 pages . Please check your child understands the meaning of the word and that they have used capital letters and full stops correctly.
