Boy's football- 04.10.2018

Another week and another opportunity for some of our talented sports people to represent St Patrick's Catholic Primary School.

This week was the annual Our Lady's Catholic College mixed football tournament. We were fortunate to be able to take 2 teams this week and this meant I was able to hand some debuts to children who hadn't represented school before.

Both teams played some brilliant football and I was really pleased with the enthusiasm that was shown by all players. They gave it their all. Special mention to Geordie who left the pitch covered in mud, including all over his face!! Testament to the effort shown by him and his team mates.

Mrs Salisbury's team featured a number of debutants and they performed admirably. Although they didn't pick up many wins, they still showed a fantastic attitude and gave their all. Their performances improved with each match too. Well done! I have to give a special shout out to Leo, who scored an absolute 'worldy' from behind the halfway line. What a finish Leo!! no frown

Mr Bellhouse's team played some really nice football, passing the ball confidently and scoring some wonderful goals. The highlight was a last minute winner from Patryk- what a goal! They finished the tournament with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat which secured a 2nd placed finish and a silver medal. Well done boys!!! no

Well done to all involved for not letting the miserable weather spoil what was a brilliant afternoon. I'm already looking forward to Monday's tournament!!

Children featured: John, Sean, Patryk, Victor, Jesus, Patrick, Riley, Issac, Harry, Geordie, Leo, Adam, Nathan, George, Priscilla-Marie, Grace.
