At St Patrick’s, we believe that art is more than just a lesson—it is a way for children to explore their world, express their feelings, and build their confidence. Our curriculum is designed to nurture every child’s unique creativity from their first day in Early Years until they leave in Year 6.

How We Learn
Our art curriculum is practical, hands-on, and built step-by-step:

Sketchbook Culture: Every child uses a sketchbook to gather ideas, practice new skills, and track their creative journey.

High-Quality Tools: We provide a wide range of materials—from clay and charcoal to digital media and textiles.

Attainment targets
By the end of each key stage, pupils are expected to know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant programme of study.
In addition to this, we also have our resident artist, Chas Jacobs who comes into school twice monthly to work with the children on Art projects. There are lots of examples of work around school. Take a look!
