This Half Term

As always I am very excited about the half term ahead and all the great topics we will be looking at! We have lots of great things to look forward to.

In English we will looking at persuasive leaflets. We will be reading and watching different adverts to see what makes a successful advert. After analysing lots of different examples we will then create our very own persuasive piece of writing! We will also be moving onto look at stories with an issue or dilemma where our class novel will be 'A Matter of Loaf and Death!'

In maths we will continue to work on our times table probes (I know everyone in Year 4 will work very hard to improve their times!) This half term we will be revisiting our place value knowledge, as well as looking at roman numerals and negative numbers. We will also be looking at fractions, moving on to finding fractions of amounts.

In science this term we have the exciting topic of 'Teeth and Digestion'! Year 4 will be looking at how our digestive system works, we will then create our own (very messy!) digestive system. We will also be exploring the different types of teeth we have their different functions.

It looks like another busy half term ahead for us and I am looking forward to seeing all of Year 4's fantastic hard work!
