This Half Term

As always I am very excited about the half term ahead and all the great topics we will be looking at! We have lots of great things to look forward to.

In English we will looking at stories as a theme. We will be reading The Mousehole Cat and learning all about Mowzer and Tom and how they battle the ferocious Storm Cat! We will also be moving onto look at poetry. We will be looking at a variety of forms of poetry. We will read and analyse them in order to use the structures we have learnt to create our own poems.

In maths we will continue to work on our times table probes (I know everyone in Year 4 will work very hard to improve their times!) This half term we will be revisiting our fractions work, as well as looking at volume and mass. We will be getting involved in lots of hands on, practical mathematical investigations to help our learning. We will also be looking at addition and subtraction in the context of money.

In science this term we will be continuing to investigate 'Solids, Liquids and Gases'. We will be taking part and setting up different experiments to see how temperature effects different states of matter. We will also be describing and looking at the different properties of solids, liquids and gases.

It looks like another busy half term ahead for us and I am looking forward to seeing all of Year 4's fantastic hard work!
