This Half Term
Welcome back to Year 4, I hope you have had a lovely break and are ready for a great term ahead. I am very excited to see all the fantastic work that Year 4 will produce. Here is a quick look at some of the exciting things we will be learning this term.
In English we will looking at novels with a theme. We will be looking at the story 'The Mousehole Cat'. We will looking at the way in which settings are developed through descriptive language. We will also analysed how characters are described and use all of the language features we spot to help us innovate and write our very own story with a theme based on 'The Mousehole Cat'.
In maths we will continue to work on our times table probes (I know everyone in Year 4 will work very hard to improve their times!) This half term we will be revisiting our fractions and division work. We will then be focusing on looking at volume and mass, we will be taking part in lots of practical investigations to support our maths learning!
In science this term we will be continuing to learn all about states of matter. We will be looking at different states of matter and the ways in which solids, liquids and gases act differently. We will be taking parts in lots of hands on, practical experiments to deepen our understanding of different states of matter.
It looks like a busy first half term for us and I am looking forward to seeing all the fantastic work that Year 4 will produce!
