Welcome to Year 4!
In Year 4 we have lots of fun working together and learning lots of new things. There are lots of exciting things happening and Year 4 have been busy creating lots of fantastic work!
In Year 4 we are very lucky as we are all learning to play the clarinet. We practise clarinet every Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Wood. Please remember to bring your clarinet in every Tuesday.
Our P.E. days are MONDAY and WEDNESDAY. Please remember to have your full P.E. kit in school every week.
This Half Term
As always I am very excited about the half term ahead and all the great topics we will be looking at! We have lots of great things to look forward to.
In English we will looking at the Pied Piper. We will be reading this fairy tale and analysing the features of a fairy tale. We will be thinking about the characters, setting and the plot. From this work we will then plan and write our very own fairy tale. I am looking forward to reading Year 4's fantastic work.
In maths we will continue to work on our times table probes (I know everyone in Year 4 will work very hard to improve their times!) This half term we will be focusing on our multiplication knowledge, we will use this to help us to solve problems involving long multiplication. We will also be looking at, length and perimeter.
In science this term we have the exciting topic of 'Sound'! Year 4 will looking at how sounds are made, how they travel and how different things effect the way we hear. We will have lots of different challenges, including exploring the sounds we can hear in school and trying to make our own version of phones!
It looks like another busy ahead for us and I am looking forward to seeing all of Year 4's fantastic hard work!
