Welcome to Reception

Miss Hunter and Mrs Crabtree

Reading Challenge

the book of Spring term is........

Don't Put Your Finger In the Jelly Nelly!

If you share this book with your child please come in and celebrate with us, your child will then receive a certificate in assembly and be entered into our termly raffle to win a £20 voucher.

We would like to say Happy New Year to all of our families and welcome back. Miss Hunter and Mrs Crabtree

are very excited for the Spring term. We will be exploring  the  natural world, from snowy climates to the hot lands of Handa's Surprise.

In maths we will be learning about Time: how to measure time, putting events in order and making our own clocks. We will also be working with numbers bigger than 10 and looking at addition and subtraction.

In RE, we are learning about Jesus' miracles and how he cured the sick. We will think how we can show our love to others who need caring for in the way Jesus did for those around him.

Please can you encourage your child to bring their book bag into school everyday so that we can hear them read, change their books and give out the reading at home raffle tickets.

PE for reception is on a Tuesday and Wednesday morning . Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school on those days, that earrings and jewellery are removed, and that all of their uniform is named, thank you.

In reception we send home maths homework on a Friday to be returned to school by the following Thursday. This will be two pages from their maths booklet.

Spellings will be sent home weekly for your children to use the sounds they know to write words.

Please listen to your child read and talk about their story book together using the pictures.

Remember to bring your book bag to school everyday
