pick up your copy from the office only £3!

We would like to say welcome back and to all of the reception children and their families. The children have shown great enthusiasm for learning and school, what an amazing attitude to demonstrate, keep it up! no

This half term we will be concentrating on combining groups of numbers and recording simple addition sentences, counting backwards from 20 and finding one less than a given number to support our learning of subtraction. In shape and space we will concentrate on weighing and comparing objects, the language of time and 3D shapes.

We are going to be exploring all things snowy and cold, stating with thinking about who is Jack Frost and what do the children think he/she looks like? We will investigate ice and even have a visit from our lost and very icy bear. Together we will share the book 'Lost and Found' and look at the animals that live in cold climates like the penguin from the story.

We are starting to learn  phase 3 letter sounds, this phase introduces the idea of two letters that make one sound (digraph) e.g. ai as in rain, train, pain.

We will keep using phase 2 phonemes and our new phonemes to help us decode words in books and write words to describe our pictures. You can support this at home by singing and playing the jolly phonic games which can be found at jollylearning.co.uk or on the app store, or by following the links at the bottom of this page.

P.E

Our PE lessons have returned to a Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school and that all their uniform is named.
